Storm King Theater Mission

Storm King Theater’s mission is to create meaningful shared experiences through film, live performance, music, visual arts, education and cultural programming.

Rooted in the history of an iconic neighborhood theater in the heart of Village Square, we are preserving what makes going to the theater special while reimagining what it can be for a new generation.

Our programming ranges from free community programs and affordable experiences to premium events and special presentations, creating different ways for people to participate while helping sustain high-quality arts and cultural programming. We host, curate and support opportunities for artists, audiences, families and the community to experience, participate in and connect through the arts.

We want to make the theater an experience again — immersive, imaginative, engaging and sometimes unexpected. A place that invites people to put down their phones, give something their full attention and become part of what is happening around them. Whether through a film, performance, concert, exhibition, class or one-of-a-kind event, we want audiences to feel immersed in the experience rather than simply watching it.

Our work also includes arts education through our partnership with CPAC, opportunities for artists, community programming, and inclusive cultural opportunities for people of all abilities designed to broaden participation and help ensure that people with different needs have opportunities to engage with the arts.

At its heart, Storm King Theater is about the power of being together in the same room — watching, listening, laughing, learning, discovering and experiencing something together.

A home for art. A home for experiences. A home for community.

A home for unity.
